As the new Orsett Heath Academy continues to grow, are looking to recruit a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational Special Educational Needs Coordinator. The successful candidate will be someone who believes, as we do, that our students will thrive when given the right support to access our broad and aspirational curriculum. This is a key middle leadership role with responsibility for ensuring that our Inclusion team continues to develop and grow.

As SENCo, the post holder will be responsible for cultivating an inclusive learning environment throughout Orsett Heath Academy. The post holder will develop the graduated response to SEND needs at a whole school level, to support students with particular learning needs and lead staff in best practice, enabling every Orsett Heath Academy student to achieve their full potential, along with a responsibility for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of all students.

 

Why Orsett Heath Academy?

Orsett Heath Academy opened in 2020 with 120 Year 7 Pupils. We are oversubscribed in both Year 7 and Year 8. During 2022/23 we will move to our new school building. The school is currently located in purpose built accommodation at Thurrock Rugby Club, adjacent to the final school site. The school will grow to be a large community 11-16 school with 1200 pupils. We have assembled a highly motivated and able staff team and are looking for people who share our values to help us grow.
