William Edwards School is a happy and positive school secondary school based in Thurrock, Essex and is looking to engage with committed prospective apprentices to work in the main school office or House Leaders Office.  William Edwards School and South West Essex Community Education Trust (SWECET) have a very successful record with our apprenticeship-training package with many apprentices gaining permanent employment at the end of their training.  As part of our drive to support, our growing organisation there could be further opportunities available for the right candidate including additional training and career prospects.

As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced staff, building up knowledge, skills and responsibility, whilst gaining a professional qualification. Apprenticeships are also an excellent way of gaining an understanding of how a business works, and improving your personal and social skills.

Why SWECET?

This is an exciting time to join SWECET as the Trust has recently grown to 6 schools. SWECET is a realistic and forward-thinking Trust which genuinely values its workforce.

In return for their dedication to achieving our vision, we offer our colleagues:

  • The support of an experienced Headteacher;
  • A supportive and friendly work environment;
  • Becoming part of a growing organisation;
  • Full and comprehensive induction with training and tailored pathways for individual career progression;
  • Competitive salaries;
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme;
  • A health and wellbeing package;
  • A two week October half term; and
  • Reduced gym membership at a Trust school.
