Stifford Clays Primary School is currently looking to recruit a Behaviour Lead. The successful candidate will complement the professional work of teachers by ensuring that the behaviour-related policies of the school are conducted efficiently and provisions for children with behaviour needs are of the highest quality. They will implement agreed work programmes with individuals or groups, in and out of the classroom. Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and mentor.

Why Stifford Clays Primary School?

We are a community-focused school for 2 to 11 year olds, located centrally in the Stifford Clays ward of Thurrock. The original infant and junior schools were built in 1954 and were one form of entry. The school has grown hugely to accommodate 90 children in each year group.

Stifford Clays Primary School is an extremely happy and positive school.  We are an Ofsted ‘good’ school (2022 full inspection) where ‘’pupils love coming to school’’ and “staff work together to set high expectations; which pupils now strive to meet’’. We are looking for a person who:

  • Has a strong knowledge and experience in working with children with special behavioural needs.
  • Has the ability to develop and implement individual plans and behaviour management strategies.
  • Has skills to support pupils learning and positive behaviour development.
  • Is confident to work closely with the Headteacher, Senior leadership team, and teachers to ensure continuity of behaviour provision throughout the school.
  • Can successfully challenge and motivate pupils, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem.
  • Has a strong and caring personality, being calm, patient and firm.
  • Has good organisation and communication skills.
